THE final of the club triples was played on Wednesday August 4 in beautiful sunshine after the game was called off the previous day due to heavy rain.
The winners were Vicki Rankin (lead) Loretta Baker (second) and Barbara Fakes (skip). They defeated Margaret Smith, Liz Kelly and Anne Mackenzie 22-14.
On Thursday August 5, it was another fine day and a special trophy day was held. The winners were N Grehan, D Montgomery and Verlie Gray. Runners up were R Webster, B Rhodes and D Winter. First game winners were P Janes, M Shelly and V Hicks and second game winners were C Bywater, C Atkins and H Doorey. After lunch Maureen Oldfield celebrated her “o” Birthday by cutting her cake and enjoying the company of her friends and fellow bowlers.
The quarterly meeting will be held next Tuesday August 10 at 1.30pm after bowls. If rain prevents bowls being played the meeting will begin at 10am. The pairs championships have been drawn and will commence on Thursday August 12.
