THIS month sees a return of the Myall Lakes Motor Sports Bulahdelah Hillclimb on Sunday March 28.
Anything from Dad’s Holden, Mini Coopers, Ford Capris to imported overseas sports cars will be charging uphill in a race against the clock.
Chief organiser and clerk of the course Ross Jones, said everyone is encouraged to enter.
“We have sections for the ladies and the juniors. You don’t have to win the day but there is the opportunity to win your section or class. Encouragement awards will be awarded at the presentation.”
The 1.5km track is rated number one in the state, against the Bathurst Hill Climb and in the past has attracted big names like the 1966 Bathurst 1000 winner Bob Holden, who at 76 years of age is still racing.
With improved timing technology to one hundredth of a second, competitors can expect a better competition and continuous racing.
“The only thing that can delay the race are crashes,” said Mr Jones, which aren’t uncommon.
The spectators experience has been improved for 2010, with four new viewing points and a bus operating from the top to the bottom of the hill.
The day kicks off at 10am with a barbecue and drinks available at the finish line and in the pits.
