Fishing up a storm in Bulahdelah

17 May, 2007 08:41 AM
ANOTHER successful year of the Mid North Coast Blue Water Fishing titles attracted blue water fishermen from Port Macquarie in the north to Bulahdelah in the south.

Honours for the day went to the Bulahdelah's ladies team consisting of Trudy Graham, Joan Fenning and Judy Soars.

The teams event was for four people but our fabulous team of just three ladies were able to not only take out first place but Trudy Graham also won the overall ladies fisherwoman of the tournament with a total weight of 18.5kg of fish.

Joan Fenning was the runner-up ladies angler.

Catches of squire, pearl perch, flat head, leatherjacket and Samson fish meant a great take-home for the ladies.

The men's section was won by Bulahdelah's men team of Allan Freihaut, Russell Richards, Jeff Graham and Grant Bidgood with Grant just missing out on the overall men's title.

Another Bulahdelah team consisting of Dave Fenning, David Schlenert, Craig Taylor and Darryl Chick took out the runner-up title in the men's division.

Chonky Taylor, alias the mufti, won the heaviest Pearl Perch for the weekend and Allan Freihaut took out the heaviest Flathead.

Bulahdelah Blue Water Fishing's next outing is on June 1, 2 and 3.
