Harvey named pennant player of year

18 Jun, 2008 09:25 AM
WITH all of the wet weather lately a game of bowls is hard to come by.

The rain is causing delays with championships and also our gala days.

Congratulations to Barry Harvey on being named the Pelican Pest Control pennant player of the year. This is a very prestigious award to win as it is selected by the opposition skippers after each game and points are tallied up at the end of the year to decide the winners.

Also congratulations to Jeff Baker, Allan McKeogh and Max Taffe for being second round winners.

We have a visit from Swansea on the weekend, June 28 and 29 and please remember the annual general meeting next Sunday morning starting at 9am.

This is the last report from Toucha who is standing down after holding the position for the last few years. The new publicity officer will be Dave Williams.

Recent results

o June 11: winners Michael Orvis, Paul Carter, Neil Montogmery and John Younghusband from Ken McKeown, Ron James and George Hatton.

o June 13: winners Bruce Shelly and Barry Lakeman from Gary Melrose and Bill Williams.

Good bowling
