TEA Gardens Hawks will hold their annual general meeting on November 30 at the Tea Gardens Hotel from 11.30am
Nominations for life membership will be accepted and the club is urging all people interested in filling any role next season to attend.
Following a frustrating season in 2008, the hawks are expecting an improved year in 2009.
The signing of Brooke Roach to lead the side next year has consolidated last year’s players and will bring additional talent to the team. A sign up day will be held at Jimmy’s Beach in Hawks Nest on Sunday, December 7, from midday. People interested in support roles next season are also invited and a barbecue will be provided.
The 2008 presentation night was held last month.
Club president Rob Smith thanked the clubs valued sponsors and appreciation was forwarded to committee members and workers for their assistance.
Awards for 2008: Best and fairest Trent Murphy, best forward Trent Murphy, best back Simon Spooner, supporters award Scott Peachman, coach’s award Travis Markey, rookie of the year Simon Spooner, iron man award Scot Peachman, The Graham Hayward memorial award in 2008 for player of the year was presented to Jason Purdon. The club will finish up 2008 with the 100 Club Christmas party on December 22.
The day will start at 2pm in the hotel beer garden with Santa arriving at 3pm.
Members are asked to forward children’s names before the party.
