Distance runners Allan Wilson and Peter Hodges have both experienced great success in their respective marathon events over the past couple of weeks.
Allan completed the Six Foot Track Marathon, while Peter finished the Canberra Marathon with a personal best time on April 15.
Both runners owe their success to former distance champion, now coach, Charles Ringuet.
The Six Foot Track is described in many circles as 'the toughest marathon in Australia'.
Starting at Katoomba and ending at Jenolan Caves amidst thousands of cheering spectators, it is held to help raise money for the Rural Bushfire Brigade.
Allan has completed this event seven times, with the last run bettering any of his previous attempts.
"I attribute my great time to Charles", Allan said.
The Canberra Marathon is held annually against a backdrop of stunning autumn colours and amazing scenery.
"To complete a marathon is great," Peter said.
"To make such an improvement on such a great achievement is fantastic. Merci, Charles."
It is not uncommon to see Charles giving directions, offering support and providing drinks to his runners on local roads.
His personalised training programs take into account the ability of the individual, while his vast experience helps reduce the risk of injury. If you would like to contact Charles to help you prepare for the Karuah Fun Run next month, phone 49971215.
