26 Sep, 2007 01:57 PM
IN what has been described as a first for our Wednesday gala, the team of Max Taffe, John Adam and Neville Vaughn scored the maximum score of nine on the final end to record an easy win in their game, well done boys.

We have how reached the semi final stage of the mixed pairs with Barbara Fakes and Gary Melrose to play Maynie Roberts and Rom Parkinson in one semi and Barry and Lorraine Harvey to play Nola Jackson and Barry Drayton in the other. These games should produce some very good bowls so come along next Sunday, at 1pm and watch from the new balcony and enjoy all the new comforts of the club extensions.

Last weekend we had a visit from Panania and what a great time was had by all, with two games of bowls on Saturday and one game on Sunday morning. Thank you to everyone who helped make the weekend such a huge success.

Don’t forget to put your name down for pennants, if your name isn’t down you cannot be selected, so please help the selectors.

Welcome to John Younghusband and his wife who have joined us from Sydney. John is vice president of the Royal NSW Bowling Association and also a handy bowler, we hope you both settle in and enjoy the friendliness of our club.

Some recent results: September 12, winners Peter Rollason, Norm Cruickshank and Jim Morrison from Max Taffe, John Adam and Nev Vaughn.

The semi finals of the mixed pairs have now been completed with Nola Jackson and Barry Drayton to play Barbara Fakes and Gary Melrose in the final next weekend, this game should be a real crowd pleaser, so don’t forget next Sunday, check the board for starting time.
