Mezi vaults to NSW top

27 Nov, 2008 10:23 AM
MARLEY Mezi is not fazed by her achievements in gymnastic competition.

The eight-year-old ranked number one in NSW for the vault and placed in the top five for her floor and bar work during the State Gymnastics Competition in Sydney recently.

Training twice a week for eight hours, Mezi competed in three local competitions, qualifying in the top six, before moving through to the state competition.

“The very first thing announced was the vault results and Marley was straight onto her coach (with the results),” Mezi’s mother Lee Burgess said.

Mezi is unable to progress onto national competition until she reaches level five.

She is currently working through level 2A.

In year three at Tea Gardens Public School Mezi will have a break from competition until April.

But that won’t stop her from training.
