Rugby League

05 Mar, 2010 09:10 AM
THERE were mixed results at the Myall River Junior Rugby League sign on day, held Saturday February 27 at Myall Park Oval.

A 17 years side will not be formed this year due to numbers.

Confirmation of the decision will be made at a club meeting this Wednesday night.

The 14 years and under team will go ahead at this stage, however the club requires additional players to boost the side.

Training will start this week from 5.30pm on Tuesday and Thursdays.

The prospect of a 12 years and under side is still alive, however support staff will be required to form this team.

Any players or parents interested are asked to attend training on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

A final decision on teams will be made by March 21.

The Tea Gardens Hotel Motel has continued their support of the Myall River Juniors.

Their sponsorship of an NRL tipping competition is a vital part of the club’s fundraising. Books are available at the Tea Gardens Newsagency, or by placing your name on the board at the pub.

The area of Bulahdelah junior Rugby League has been weakened by the loss of young superstar Mitch Aquilina. The kid has come to Farrer and has shown that he is one talented outside back, he is a promising centre who runs strong lines and hits like a front rower in defence. First trial scored a hat-trick with ease and was the standout. He has a long football career ahead of him and i wish him the best of luck. It's a shame the area has lost his skill. Regards
