AN under strength Wingham A-grade cricket proved too strong for Forster for round seven of the competition.
Wingham hadn’t played for more than a month due to the Christmas break and byes while the premiers were also missing their opening bowler David Rees to representative duties in New Zealand.
Wingham batted first and put on a below par score of 110 with Brad Staff top scoring with 27 on a thick and lush outfield.
Andrew May was the pick of the Forster bowlers recording 4/15 from 6 overs.
The tally of 110 was a very gettable and Forster were travelling along well at 2/46 in the 14th over until Paul Swan was dismissed by Mick Stinson for 32. From then on the wickets fell regularly with the Forster batsman having trouble putting runs on the board.
In the 33rd over Stinson claimed his fourth wicket of the day to have Forster all out for 88.
The win keeps Wingham at the top of the A-grade ladder on 63 points with Taree Leagues second on 57.25 then Cundletown 3rd 50.7, Taree West 49.50 and Forster on 13pts.
