Lorna and husband John celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary on the 14th so Lorna had a busy week.

Also celebrating their birthday this month are Shirlie Richardson, Marcia Godwin and Gay Pezet.

Tuesday, 17th saw Merle Sargeant, Maureen Oldfield, Dot Montgomery and Verlie Gray winners for the day with Helen Doorey, Pam Skewes, Jan Eyles and Bev Rhodes the runners up.

We are all now practising for the up coming Pennants season and it is good to see most pennant players coming along so we can actually play on our teams.

Fours Championships got under way on Thursday 19th with only two teams playing in the first round a very close game was played with Jeannita Rollason, Pam Skewes, Jan Eyles, and Vicki Rankin, defeating Lorna Brennan, Fay Giggins, Lynn Humphries, and Claire Atkins 20 0 19, a very good game to watch.

Thursday Social winners were Verlie Gray, Dot Montgomery, Maureen Oldfield and Merle Seargeant and the runners up re Lorraine Harvey Audrey Tyne and Anne Mackenzie.

Please note the February meeting will be on the 7th owing to commitments in the James Wall Shield it will get under way 1.30pm as usual.

Sadly we lost our friend and fellow bowler Kath Wade who passed away on January 10, 2006 she will be sadly missed by all our members.
