Giving back to the community

15 Nov, 2007 06:49 AM
The Tea Gardens Hawks have been showing their gratitude to their many sponsors over the past year by in turn supporting the Tea Gardens Hawks Nest and wider community.

The Hawks assist local organisations by allowing them the use of their facilities at the grounds, the Hawks bus and their marquee.

Community groups that have benefited in recent times from the club include the primary school at their annual sports days, the Myall Coast Entertainers, the fire brigade, the lions club, the surf club and the Myall River Festival.

The Hawks have also given their time to assist with barbecuing at functions around the community.

Strong support has been given to the Myall River Juniors over their inaugural year by allowing them use of the facilities and assisting with the setting up of the grounds before games.

“The Hawks do a lot of background work and really support the wider community,” club secretary Neil Reynolds said.

The club will celebrate Christmas with their 100 club Christmas party on December 16 at the Tea Gardens Hotel Motel. It will be a family orientated day for members and guests with Santa Clause said to arrive on a motor bike during the afternoon. For more information on the club contact Hawks secretary Neil Reynolds on 4997 1641.
