30 Jul, 2009 10:57 AM
THE Tea Gardens Hotel Hawks recorded a comfortable win against East Maitland last Saturday. Best in the forwards were Brooke Roach and Trent Murphy. Lock Matt Browne had a busy game scoring two ties and kicking eight goals. In the backs, Tyson Jolly played strongly, supported by fullback Simon Spooner and Ryan Saunders in the centres. Josh Fidden also stood out in the centres, scoring two tries. Other try scorers were Simon Spooner, Josh Simms, Ryan Saunders, Tyson Jolly, Brooke Roach, Jamie McSpadden, and Nathan Jolly. The final score line was 60 points to five. In other matches in round 12 Central Wyong 34 defeated Abermain 30, Gloucester 42 defeated Wangi 12, and West Maitland 36 defeated Stroud 24. Central Wyong remain at the top of the table on 20 points. Tea Gardens Hawks are on 17. Wangi is on 14 points. West Maitland 13, Gloucester 12, Stroud 11, Abermain 10, and East Maitland three.

The Hawks will host Wangi in this Sunday’s match. The game will kick off at 2.30pm. This will be the last chance to see the Club play at home. The Hawks have not been defeated at Myall Park this season, and players say they will endeavour to keep this record intact. Wangi will be looking for a win to maintain their top three position on the table.
