The Myall River Junior Rugby League are grand finalists in the club's inaugural year.
In a thrilling game, the Bulahdelah Bowling Club 14s were narrowly defeated by a bigger and more experienced Glendale team by 26 points to 24.
Although beaten, Myall River were still attacking the line as the final siren sounded.
The team would not accept Glendale's superior attitude, coming from 22 to 10 midway through the second half, to level the score at 22 points all with seven minutes to go.
Comments from officials named the game as the best seen all day and congratulated Myall River on their team spirit, and sportsmanship.
Best on the park was half back Nick Clarke.
Leading with determination, he inspired and directed his side with enthusiasm.
Daniel Evans at five eighth attacked the line consistently, using his trade mark side step effectively against the bigger Glendale backline.
Joel Evans stood out in the forwards.
Front rower Steve Cummins work rate was high, until taken from the field with concussion.
Under pressure form Glendale, and carrying an injury into the game, Tom King continued his outstanding season.
Jay Reynolds returned the ball strongly from fullback.
Matt Cookson kept the opposition defence busy.
Centres Corey Johnston and Andrew Keenan played well.
Wingers Ben Grainger and John Wiseman were kept busy all day, and hooker Josh Jones played well above expectations.

Myall River now holds their presentation night on Saturday September 15.
The function will be held at the Bulahdelah Bowling Club starting at 3pm.
Daniel from Bulahdelah Bus Service has donated the use of his bus to transport people from Hawks Nest Tea Gardens.
Awards for both teams will be strongly contested.
The Tea Gardens Earthmoving 16s awards will go to the best forward and best back.
A best and fairest award will be presented, along with a coach's award.
Defeated in their qualifying semi final, several players will be in contention for each award.
Equally the 14s awards will be hotly contested.
