Bulahdelah tennis grand final stoush

15 Jan, 2009 11:18 AM
BULAHDELAH Tennis Club members, young and old, met recently for their combined Christmas party, presentation and grand final night.

The tennis played on the night was a very high standard and it was a shame there had to be a loser.

It was great to see the two teenage captains beating all us oldies and reaching the Grand Final.

Congratulations Trent and James.

Division 1 winners were Trent Lamborn, Russell Guthrie and Daphne Hoare, runners up were James Rae, Lynnette Shultz and David Mason. Division 2 winners were Brent Smith, Amy Roberts and Lauren Shultz, runners up were Alisha Smith, Jason Shultz and Troy Fittock.

The Christmas/New Year competition has recently started with everyone having a great time in very hot conditions.

The next senior competition will begin mid February and if you wish to play you can place your name on the list at the club or at Leo's Fruit and Veg Shop, and must in by February 10.

Names can also be given to Lou on 4994 4356 or Margaret on 4997 4112.

All new players are most welcome, so come along and enjoy the fun.

Junior competitions will began soon after school returns and names can be placed on the list at the schools.

The Junior Committee trialled a new format for the competitions last year and it was a huge success.

The children all played in graded groups and received points for individual games won.

For further information contact Kay on 4997 4530.

The Junior committee would like to thank the tennis grannies Del and Carol for their tremendous support over many years.

Club Membership and Tennis NSW fees are now due and must be paid by the Saturday February 28.
