SATURDAY, August 2, was perfect for the tennis players of the area. The Myall Park Tennis Club held its annual general meeting followed by a social day of tennis and a barbeque.
There was a cool breeze but it just gave us all an appetite for the meal. The club’s annual general meeting was held at noon at the clubhouse and the committee was delighted to see such a good attendance with players from various groups.
The election of office bearers went smoothly with members happily filling all the positions required.
Col Bell was re-elected as president with vice president Bob Hanington and Ralph Genner.
The treasurer is again Winsome Dorrington and the secretary is Rosemary Bright.
Additional committee members are Mic Bright , John Crawford, Sandra and Allen Bray, Laurence Dorrington and Milton Bloomfield along with new helpers Thelma Sharp, Gary DePagter and Alma Napret. After the meeting some enthusiastic tennis was played before the barbeque was cooked.
Approximately 80 members have rejoined for the year July 2008 to June 2009 and we would like to remind the other players they are now un-financial and we need to send off their re-registration as it is their insurance.
There are forms at the club-house and most committee members will happily receive your membership and pass it on to the membership officer.
There are groups that play on Monday’s, Tuesday’s, Wednesday’s, Saturday’s and Sunday’s who will welcome you along to the Yamba St club.
