Criteriums held at the Industrial Estate over the weekend
15 May 12 | The Whyalla Cycling Club held graded criteriums on a T- shaped 1.8 kilometre circuit in the Industrial Estate on Saturday afternoon.
10 May 12 | Next week's Casterton 50 cycling handicap road race will be a bit more emotional than in any of its previous 66 years.
24 riders contest handicap race
08 May 12 | Twenty four riders, including new rider Anthony Freebairn from Port Augusta and Neil Paterson back after a two year break, contested the 50.8 kilometre handicap along the Cowell Road to the Iron Baron turn off and return, finishing at the top of Hummock Hill on Saturday afternoon.
01 May 12 | A head wind greeted the 22 riders for the return journey of their 50 kilometre handicap race out along the Iron Knob road, finishing at Fryers Cutting on Saturday, with Thomas Gee and Beth Evans, the two under 15 riders, joining in with Keith Gibbons, Ron Versteegh and Brett Harvey 2 kilometres before the turn around.
Road cycling season commences
24 Apr 12 | The Whyalla Cycling Club's road season began on Saturday, the opening race a 55.2 kilometre handicap out along the Port Augusta road, Point Lowly road and Fitzgerald Bay road to the turn around point at Telecom Tower, before heading back to Whyalla and finishing just before OneSteel lights.
03 Apr 12 | A warm evening greeted cyclists for the final night of track racing for the season on Friday night and although the breeze seemed to be slight along the finish straight, riders reported that along the back straight it was a different story, where it was certainly felt.
Victorian cyclist wins Tour du Mont
03 Apr 12 | Well credentialled Victorian cyclist, Ashley Hawker clinched his first Tour du Mont trophy at the weekend, producing four consistent efforts.
