Big win for Mudcrabs yet to lose at Fortress Myall

IN ADVERSE weather conditions with a forty knot westerly blowing over the ground the Tea Gardens Hotel sponsored Myall Coast Rugby team had a decisive 12 try 71-0 victory over the Manning Rats last Saturday at what is now being termed Fortress Myall Park as they are yet to lose a game at this ground.

The victory was comprehensive and came from a great all round team effort. The standout players were Tom Davy having only his third start on the side of the scrum scoring four tries from his constant pressure and imposing running at the opposition inside backs, James Moses at half back who scored the opening try in the first two minutes of the game and was a constant threat in attack to the opposition and Stuart Borgman having only his fourth game of rugby was very sound under the high ball and made several penetrating runs in counter attack against the opposition.

This victory sees the Mudcrabs just behind Foster Tuncurry Dolphins in the competition table with next week's final game in the first round being against Foster Tuncurry at their Tuncurry ground.

The Mudcrabs would like to again thank the community who came out in terrible weather conditions to support them in their victory last Saturday however I am sure they left Myall Park with a great sense of pride in the players after seeing some excellent team tries and outstanding goal kicking from Alex Jervis who recorded a 100 percent strike rate kicking seven conversions from seven attempts in tricky 40 knot gusts.
