Myall River Juniors
The Myall River 14s had an emphatic win over Belmont North on Saturday. The Hawks won by 72 points to nil. The team remains in first place on the ladder. Jack Davakis scored four, Kenny Do, Jy Paulsen, Sonny Marks, and Cain Waterman scored two each and Luke Ireland scored one. Luke Ireland kicked ten goals from 13 attempts. The 14s will play Cessnock at Myall Park on Saturday. The game will kick off at 10am.
The Myall River 16s were defeated at Cessnock by 38 points to 22, after leading for 20 minutes of the first half. Starting with four players unavailable, the side were wary of the undefeated Cessnock outfit. Jack Croese and Lindsaay Mudu scored early tries to get the Hawks to the lead after ten minutes. Cessnock hit back in the 2nd half with three quick tries to take a 24 to 10 lead. A converted try to Clint Tansey kept the scores close. Lindsaay Mudu scored his second try just before the bell to cap a big game.
Best for Myall River was Carl Williams who tackled himself to a stand still. Nic Reynolds again defended strongly. Lindsaay Mudu was the best in attack and Jack Croese played a robust all round game. Sol keys organisation around the ruck continues to improve.On Saturday the 16s will travel to Bower Oval Glendale. Game times are yet to be confirmed.
