THE Tea Gardens Hawks continued its season of losses on Saturday, defeated by Windale by 42 points to 24.
The Hawks opened the scoring, and appeared to be on top of the more fancied Warriors side, however a series of mistakes by the visitors on their own line, gave the home side chances to hit back with three converted tries.
A brilliant individual try by John Schultz got the score to 22 points to 12. Another individual effort by David Edmonds from dummy half, improved the score line to 22 to 18 at the break.
The muddy conditions, and poor discipline kept the Hawks on the back foot during the second half, with players in the bin for 10 minute on two occasions.
Best for the Hawks were Brooke Roach and Trent Saunders who shared the players' player award.
Brooke Roach was also awarded best forward.
Anthony Cameron was voted the best back, and Trent Saunders was voted best on the park by the supporters again this week.
The Hawks will play Wangi this Sunday at Myall Park.
The game will kick off at 2.30 pm. The home game jackpot is at $600. Memberships are still available.
