Nail biting win for Myall Mudcrabs

THE Tea Gardens Hotel sponsored Myall Coast Mudcrabs had a nail biting win over the Wallamba Bulls last Saturday by 29-26 in their game played at Foster. The Mudcrabs showed huge resolve to hang in there for the last 20 minutes of the game with Alex Jervis slotting a penalty goal as the full time whistle blew.

The Mudcrabs were well aware that this was going to be a tough game and applied pressure to the Wallamba Bulls from good kick and chase at the start of the game as well as dominating the scrum.

The Mudcrabs unfortunately turned over too much ball which gave Wallamba the incentive to get back in the contest .

The game was certainly a great contest for the entire game which certainly tested the fitness and resolve of the Mudcrabs.

Alex Jervis kicked well during the game as well as slotting the winning penalty.

Tom Davy again was a standout with some good hits and strong carries before he was replaced with a severe cork.

Elliot St George was never off the ball and very competitive at the breakdown.

The flyhalf combination of Matt Whiney and Ben Simon is developing nicely showing good organisational skills.

The outside backs of Brendon Cusack, Ben Shannon, Stuart Borgman and Brenton Sutton chased hard all day and were one of the reasons that the Mudcrabs came out victors in this match.

This win without a bonus point keeps the Mudcrabs in second position in their quest to finish in the top two in this competition.

Next weeks game is against Old Bar Clams at Old Bar in its third game on the road which the team will be very keen to win.
