TEA Gardens Runners has just celebrated its fifth birthday and trainer Charles Ringuet said the group has only gone from strength to strength.
The group began when about five people doing running training discovered the numbers were there to organise a run every Sunday morning.
The group now has a membership of about 40 people with an average of about 25 attedning the runs at the Lions Park Tea Gardens every Sunday morning.
"It's good for people to get out and do something on a Sunday morning," Ringuet said.
Ringuet said the group had done a lot for the children who were part of it.
"The group is responsible for the achievements of the kids," he said.
"Kids like Carl Williams, a national and state runner, the Markham girls, Cassy Reilly, Chis O'Neil and Leilani White."
Each Sunday morning the group meets at the Lions Park at 8am where some people walk and jog while others run.
The distances they cover can be anything from 1km to 10km.
Ringuet said he hoped the group would be running strong for at least another 20 years.
