Brawl investigated

A BRAWL, resulting in a man being glassed over the head with a wine bottle in Hawks Nest, played out between the Twin Towns recently.

Police said at about about 11pm on Friday, July 6 a brawl between about 20 people erupted at a licensed premises in Tea Gardens. They said the brawl spilled out onto the street covering the entire intersection. Upon police arrival two males were identified by staff and a third was arrested and placed in handcuffs.

The males were conveyed to Tea Gardens Police Station but no charges were made as police were still waiting to view security footage.

Police said a continuation of the same brawl then took place at about 12.15am that morning in Ibis Avenue, Hawks Nest. Police located a male suffering serious head injuries after being glassed with a 750 millilitre wine bottle. An ambulance was summoned and the man was treated at the scene. Police said the man who was attacked by five males was also kicked and punched on the ground.

At this stage police are on the hunt for two 19 year-old Hawks Nest males wanted in relation the incident.
