Top year for Myall juniors

THE Myall River under 14 junior rugby league side has capped off an impressive season, finishing ahead of the competition in its undefeated run to the semi finals.

The side secured top spot after being awarded a win by forfeit from Belmont North three weeks ago, and won in impressive style against Cessnock the following weekend.

The juniors then finished off its amazing year by beating Morpeth 48-8 on the weekend.

The side will now advance to the semi-finals and will play the winner of Singleton and West Wallsend in two weeks time.

Starring for the side this season has been Jack Davakis who has scored in excess of 40 tries, Luke Ireland and Kenny Do.

Aaron Bills has organised well from dummy half, and Sonny Marks and Nash Johnson have combined well in the halves.

Riley Price, Cain Waterman, and Tarryn Roach have stood out in the forwards.

Meanwhile, Under 14 coach and Tea Gardens Hawks player Brooke Roach will remain with the club next season after the Nota published last week that he would be lost to the side.

A core of other players are also set to remain.
